To be honest, I forgot that this space was here! I felt the need a couple of days ago to tell someone about how I was proud of something I did diet-wise, and didn't really have anyone to tell. As I was lying in bed that night, I remembered about this blog. So I'll try to use it, really I will.
Things with me are definitely on the improve. I fell off the dieting wagon (yet AGAIN!) earlier in the year, but now I'm back with a vengeance. I tipped the scales at a very embarrassing number and I have sworn to myself that I'm going to do something about it. I'm tired of being fat. I'm tired of being unfit. I'm tired of suddenly realising that some things that I used to do easily are now very hard work - or just not something I can do any more. I refuse to give in to it.
So I've been back on the Tony wagon for about a week-and-a-half. I haven't had an 'official' weigh-in, but I popped on the scales at home a few days ago and according to them, had lost just over 5 kilos already. Was quite chuffed at that, but I know that the scales don't always agree, so am reserving judgement for when I go and officially weigh-in, probably Friday.
I have to admit to one failing already though. I'd been on the program from Monday to Saturday last week, was going really well and I even planned my day Saturday at work so that I would avoid the easy, bad-for-me options. Of course, after Saturday night's gig, I downed a few glasses of bubbly, but I'd anticipated that, and was quite okay with it. I avoided the cheese, the dips and all manner of tasty stuff, and stuck to the celery and capsicum sticks while drinking the bubbly ..... but then on the way home, very drunkenly told the boy to drive through Hungry Jacks. Got to say, the Whopper tasted great at the time, but it repeated on me all night, and I could still taste it the next morning - reminded me exactly why I needed to shun all things fast-food. At least for now.
So the bright side to my little indiscretion is that I got up, dusted myself down, and got straight back on the horse. And I haven't even wanted to stray from the path since then. Now, this is a big change for me, because in the past, Sunday morning would have rolled around with me thinking things like "well, I've already ruined it, a bit of tasty stuff today wouldn't hurt ..."
So I'm pretty impressed with my new attitude.
